Our craft
What's inside a wall that lasts
The brick you see is only the outside layer. Behind it, each layer has a job, and getting them right is what keeps water out and the wall standing for decades.
- 1Concrete block backupThe structural wall that carries the load.
- 2Rigid insulationKeeps heat in and the inside face of the wall warm.
- 3Air spaceA gap behind the brick so any water that gets in can drain down.
- 4Brick veneerThe finished face, laid level with full mortar joints.
- 5Wall tiesMetal ties set in the joints that anchor the brick to the block.
- 6Flashing & weep holesAt the base, they steer water out of the wall.
